20 Rules – what are yours? | Part 1
This is not my usual post, but I believe it will add some value to the conversation. While surfing the net the other day, I got into a discussion with Tony Steward from Lifechurch.tv. He had a blog post on 20 rules that if used everyday/week would change our lives or strengthen our walk. Tony challenged us to create a list of our own. So here is mine.
This is going to be a 2parter. Part 1- I am going to list my rules, that if used, I would be healthier and make my life better. Part 2 - I am going to list my rules that if followed would make my marketing and relationships better.
Here is Part 1
- spend time in prayer/study/meditation
- no sodas, just water
- limit coffee to 2 times a day (3 on a long day)
- exercise every day
- make sure I spend time with my wife
- make sure I listen while my wife is talking during that time we are together
- spend quality time with my kids
- clean out my inbox of emails
- create a batch time for reading my rss feeds
- learn something new about God/life
- just learn something new
- create a to do list and stick to it
- turn off the internet for at least an hour each day
- go outside for a little while – take in the fresh air
- eat more fruit
- not eat after 8
- go to bed at 11pm
- take the TV and laptops out of the bedroom
- add value to someones day
- find time to be nice to someone
Please take time to list your rules in the comment section or put a link to your blog in the comment section. When you are finished please take a look at Tony Steward’s blog.

ChurchMetrics is Live! A Must Have for Every Church Serious About Growth
This is fresh off the presses. I have been waiting on this roll-out for several months. can you feel my excitement.
I just received this announcement from my friends at LifeChurch.tv. Now there is a way for your church and ministry to effectively track trends in your church. This is a free web app that keeps tabs on attendance, giving, salvation, and baptism. This program gives you easy to understand charts and reports that will catapult your church growth.
This is not a substitute for church membership or contact database, but rather a place where you can monitor patterns in your church. Oh and did I tell you there are mobile features as well !!!! I am telling you this will jumpstart and powercharge your urban church marketing efforts. I will be reviewing this software over the next few days and then will give you my thoughts. But, I know I have hungry/hyper techno-marketing clients who will want this information sooner rather than later. So enjoy. http://www.churchmetrics.com.
A special thanks to the Digerati and LifeChurch teams for this wonderful application. DID I SAY IT WAS FREE!!!
